LAST UPDATE: April 30, 1999 Hi! My screen name is Tess. This of course is not my real name, but my mom tells me it would have been my nickname had my dad named me Theresa, which was the name he had picked out for me. Unfortunately, I was given a name so common, that all through school, there were at least 2 or 3 of us in each class I had. I have compiled inspiring stories from others for nearly 10 years now. I have had many experiences of my own since I was very young, but I have never written them out. I have always told them verbally, until very recently. . .
My father passed away in January of 1999. It was very unexpected and I have had a hard time dealing with his death. I had not even showed him the photo on the right. I figured I had plenty of time to make him a copy of it for fathers day. Several weeks after my dad's memorial service, my friend loaned me a book written by John Edwards called: "One Last Time". Please visit his web site, using the link below to the chat room. The chat room is for those who have lost loved ones. The people I have met there made me feel comfortable enough to tell them many of my stories and have encouraged me to share my experiences, so I will try. After reading John Edwards book, I now truly believe that my dad heard me say goodbye to him because I also asked him for a sign so I would know he heard me. I got it only three days later... It came as the form of information from a cousin who lived very far away, on the day of his memorial service. It made me very happy on a sad day and I found comfort in it. I also do not believe in coincidences. The sign I asked for was very specific and was something very unlikely to get, or so I thought. It was in a way, perhaps selfish of me to ask my dad for help concerning his ancestors, because it had never interested him. I'm lucky that I didn't have to wait very long to get my answer. It came on the day that I was the saddest and helped me get through the day. | Below, is a recent picture of me, taken Nov. 1998
